Q. What is the prime purpose of an Originote notebook?
A.
The Originote book in its simplest form is a notebook for recording your notes.
If used with the Magicomm G303, notes can be downloaded onto a PC simply by docking the Pen. If ever you were to lose or mislay your notebook you would still have access to your valuable notes of meetings etc.
Q. Are there any hidden costs or license fees?
A. No. Apart from the acquisition or ownership of Magicomm G303 digital pen and Originote note book the only charges that you may incur are the modest data traffic charges on your mobile device if you use Originotes+.
Q. Can I brand an Originote notebook with my Company Logo and details?
A. With a minimum order of Originote notebooks and adherence to Magicomm’s Branding Terms and Conditions, it is possible to brand Originote. Please enquire through this website for further details.
Q. When I download my pen stroke data to my PC is the memory from the pen deleted?
A. Only the pen strokes that you have made in the Originote notebook are deleted.
Q. Is there anyway to convert handwritten notes into text within a Word document?
A. The OrigiNote product will not support handwriting conversion and is intended
to be image only.
Q. What Computers and Operating Systems is Originote compatible with?
A. Currently Orginote’s download software and Originote viewer are only available on Microsoft Windows operating Systems from Windows 2000 onwards. There are no plans at present to develop an Apple version.
Q. What is the purpose of the four Function keys?
A. Originote is an evolving product; features added will require the user to use a function key to achieve a desired result. e.g. Add a photograph taken using my mobile phone to this email (not available at this time).
Q. How do I make sure that the “real-time” clock is set correctly?
A. Every time you dock your pen for downloading the Magicomm G303 will automatically calibrate itself from your PC.
Q. How do I charge my Magicomm G303?
A. Simply dock the Pen in its docking station that is connected to your PC that is running. USB Mains plug chargers will be available from the OrigiNote Shop
in the near future.
Q. Are the ballpoint refills special in anyway?
A. Yes. Not using the correct refills will invalidate your warranty. The refills for the Magicomm G303 will not leak which would potentially damage the electronics in the pen.
Q. How do I obtain refills?
A. From the OrigiNote online shop
Q. Is there an Originote version available as an insert for my organiser?
A. Not at this time. However if there is sufficient demand Magicomm may re-consider this position.
Q. What exactly is the Magicomm OrigiNote Viewer?
A. The Viewer is a user application residing on the PC where notes have been stored. It facilitates the viewing of recorded notes. It is free of charge and can be downloaded from this website by OrigiNote users.
Q. Will my OrigiNote be compatible with newer versions as they become available?
A. With the benefit of four function keys users will be able to choose from a range of functions that will be added as Originote evolves.

Q. What mobile devices are compatible with OrigiNote +?
A. OrigiNote+ requires Mercury. Mercury at this time only operates on Nokia Series 60 mobile phones. This includes but is not limited to the Nokia 6630, Nokia 6680 and Nokia N70, Microsoft mobile 2003 and 2005 operating systems are covered and these are found on a variety of PDAs and Microsoft mobile phones. Mercury will become available on a wider variety of handsets in the near future.
Q. What is Mercury?
A. Mercury is Magicomm’s proprietary Messaging Platform that is also able to run applications on a local device. It is able to take all Magicomm G303 digital pen data and route it to the required location – guaranteed. For further details on Mercury please visit www.magicomm.co.uk
Q. Does a visual image of my handwriting appear as an e-mail?
A. Yes, as a pdf attachment or inline within the body of the e-mail.
Q. What costs are associated with OrigiNote +
A. Only mobile data traffic costs and the cost of ownership of the Magicomm G3030 digital pen, OrigiNote+ and compatible mobile device. No monthly subscriptions.
Q. Can I send information previously downloaded that is not stored in the digital pen’s memory?
A. Yes, the OrigiNote data that you have on your PC can be stored on Magicomm’s servers in your unique secure area. An e-mail comprising a chosen section or sections of your recorded notes can be sent.
Q. Can I use my mobile device to enter an e-mail address that isn’t registered as one of my Just a Tick addresses?
A. This will be available during second quarter 2006.
Q. Can OrigiNote+ work over CDMA?
A. Yes. GPRS, 3G and CDMA
Q. Is it possible to send a photograph and have it sent together with a handwritten message?
A. Not at this time. Magicomm will incorporate its Photo-add Mercury component to OrigiNote+ in the near future.
Q. Can I populate one or more Just a Tick fields with Group e-mail functionality?
A. Not at this time. However magicomm may add this feature at later date.
